Shop Japanese knives, knife sharpening stones, Japanese tableware, kitchenware, restaurant supplies and equipments, take out containers, sushi and ramen supplies
Awesome store. I've been wanting a small suribachi bowl and they had it at a super reasonable price. In fact everything is priced accordingly. They have some beautiful knives that I'm sure supply some of the best chefs in the area.
It was a terrible shopping experience. I took the subway for an hour in 90-degree heat to go to the MTC store to buy a knife that I had confirmed with the MTC manager before. I originally wanted them to deliver it to me, but the manager said the stock was in Manhattan. The store asked me to pay and pick up the goods by myself, and they confirmed many times that they were in stock. However, when I came to the MTC store and told them that I came to buy the confirmed knives, they told me that they were out of stock, but I saw that I wanted to buy more. The knife that was confirmed to be in stock for the first time was placed in the display cabinet, but I was told that it could not be sold to me. Without any extra explanation, I just said that their manager made a mistake. Isn't this blatant discrimination? It’s really disappointing. I have been a customer of MTC for more than ten years and I am treated like this.
This spot is known for having a great selection of Japanese knives, but I didn’t realize they also have lots of Japanese kitchenware and even frozen A5 wagu that’s priced very well. I love this store!
Staff are not very knowledgeable regarding cutlery. Misled twice by staff regarding the best choice when selecting a knife. One time regarding issues with carbon steel knives and again when questioning the difference between two 8" knife choices.
Decent selection of knives. Variety of options for dish ware as well. Good place to view items before investing online.
Good store to buy Japanese restaurant and kitchen supplies.
